A couple of friends and I are on the verge of releasing a long overdue EP for our band, Blessed Are The Meek. I joined the band a few years ago shortly before my band, Silent Siren, split up. We have a typical 5 piece setup with Ingmar on Drums, Johannes on vocals, Reinhardt and Walter on guitar and myself on Bass. Joining the band officially started my journey into the bass realm. Unfortunately, as with most wouldbe/ hobbyists, time always seems to pass by too fast to actually dig into your instrument and master it (at least to some extent). At least we get closer and closer to the end-goal as the guys in the band start finishing off their studies.
With December creeping up, I hope to close the “EP chapter” of the band and publish the songs we have been crafting for the past 4 years. David from Silver Frog studios helped us to record and Clint from Watts Productions is busy with the mixing and mastering. We are really excited to polish the last mixing details on the songs and take on the challenge of creating the 2nd set of material.
As for my bass playing… It needs some serious attention. Years of neglecting basic knowledge of chords scales and technique has left me pretty useless when it comes to jamming with other musicians. Tabs just don’t cut it anymore. Taking up lessons became an option as a new music shop opened just around the corner. There aren’t many things that can substitute a good tutor!
